GarageSaleTrails is an app-first service designed to help people identify items, estimate resale value, organize inventory, create listings, discover local garage sales, and plan routes. This policy applies to information collected through our website, app, communications, and related services.

- Account information: your name, email address, login details, and profile information when you create or use an account.
- Listing and marketplace information: titles, descriptions, photos, categories, condition, prices, sale dates, locations, and other information you submit when creating a garage sale, Trail Market, or other listing.
- Inventory and AI Scout information: item details, photos, notes, pricing information, and information you submit so AI Scout can help identify an item, provide an informational estimate, or prepare suggested listing copy.
- Support and referral information: information you provide when you contact us, submit feedback, or use referral features.
Trail Notes newsletter information
If you join Trail Notes, we may collect your first name if provided, email address, country, marketing consent, signup source, and the date or time of your consent. We use this information to manage subscriptions and send communications you have agreed to receive.
Information collected automatically
We may collect limited technical and usage information, including device, browser, operating-system, app-version, and general service activity information; location information when you choose to use location-based features or grant permission; push-notification device tokens if you enable notifications; and cookies or similar technologies used for functionality, security, performance, and measurement.

This includes creating and managing accounts; operating Inventory, Trail Market, garage sale listings, and saved sales; providing AI Scout features; supporting local discovery and route features; responding to support requests; sending service notices and, where you have consented, Trail Notes communications; preventing fraud and misuse; and meeting legal obligations.
3. AI Scout and Item Estimates
AI Scout may use submitted photos and details to help identify an item, estimate a possible resale range, and generate suggested listing copy. AI Scout outputs are informational only. They are not professional appraisals and are not a guarantee of authenticity, condition, market value, resale value, buyer interest, or sale price. You are responsible for reviewing results before relying on them, publishing a listing, setting a price, or making a buying or selling decision.
4. Public Listings and Marketplace Content
When you post a garage sale, Trail Market listing, or other public content, some information is intended to be visible to other users. This may include a title, description, photos, city or approximate location, sale dates and times, item details, categories, prices, and other information you choose to provide. Do not include sensitive personal information in public listings, descriptions, photos, or messages.
5. Location Information
GarageSaleTrails may use location information to help users find nearby sales, display relevant local listings, and provide route or direction features. We collect location information only when you choose to use a location-based feature or grant permission through your device or browser. You can deny or disable location access through your device or browser settings; some location-based features may then be limited.
6. Trail Notes and Marketing Communications
Trail Notes may include launch updates, app news, garage sale tips, local second-hand shopping ideas, local sale highlights, and related GarageSaleTrails communications. Newsletter consent may be separate from app-account use. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using an unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting privacy@garagesaletrails.com. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not necessarily stop essential service, security, or account-related communications.
7. How We Share Information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary to operate GarageSaleTrails, provide requested services, comply with law, or protect people and our services.
- Service providers: providers that help operate hosting, databases, authentication, storage, security, analytics, communications, and customer support.
- Infrastructure providers: we may use Supabase for database, authentication, and storage-related services.
- Email and marketing providers: GarageSaleTrails may use email delivery and marketing service providers to manage Trail Notes subscriptions, send launch updates, deliver app news, and process unsubscribe requests. These providers may process your email address, subscription preferences, and basic email engagement information where permitted.
- Mapping or location providers: providers used to display maps, geocode locations, or support directions where those features are available.
- Legal and safety recipients: where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of GarageSaleTrails, our users, or others.
